I have witnessed firsthand the hard work, challenges and rewards associated with farming. I grew up on a mixed farm raising cattle and crops so I understand the long hours, calving stress, pressure of seeding and harvest, and unpredictable nature of this life. My family still farms, and I see how much the daily work has changed, including the big transitions, like succession planning and shifting family dynamics.

As a psychologist, I bring this understanding to my work with farmers, ranchers and rural families. I provide a warm, compassionate, non-judgmental space for people to talk through their struggles, stressors, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges and the weight of farm transitions. I use approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to help people find ways to cope, heal and move forward.

I have more than ten years experience working in private practice, hospitals and university clinics supporting people through grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, financial stress, eating disorders, couple’s distress and family challenges. I am certified in both individual and family therapy using Emotion-Focused Therapy and have acquired significant post-graduate training in couples therapy. This means I can use an individual or systems lens to support you to de-escalate tension, navigate tough conversations and work towards solutions tailored to your circumstances.

Farming is more than a job—it’s a way of life. It can be tough on your mental and emotional well-being. If you feel overwhelmed, burnt out, or just need someone who truly understands the realities of farm life, I am here to help.
