Taylor Buryn
RESEARCH ASSISTANT BIO
My name is Taylor Buryn and I am a recent graduate from UofA Augustana with a BA in Psychology. I grew up on a farm in Thorhild County, northeast of Edmonton.
I am very excited to work on this project having seen firsthand how mental health can be affected in agricultural and rural lifestyles. Being part of this project is very rewarding to not only gain education on this topic, but to be a part of a change in the mental health sector of this community.
As a recent graduate, I am hoping to enter grad school for an MA or PsyD program. My goal is to become a counselor and specialize in working with athletes or children within rural communities.
CURRENT RESEARCH WORK
Taylor is working on the Farm Transitions Study. The project involves a multi-case study analysis of producers who operate a multigenerational farm in Alberta. We’ll be interviewing them and at least two of their relatives or employees to learn more about the succession planning process such as what resources they want or have found useful, and what challenges they have encountered.
