I know farming because I’ve lived it. I grew up in a tight-knit farming community in Northeast Alberta where I spent years working the land and raising livestock. I would spend weekends helping neighbors with cattle drives, branding and running machinery. I also ran a game farm for years with buffalo, elk, bighorn sheep, exotic horses and ostriches - if it had hooves, wings, or fur, I’ve probably worked with it. I’ve been there during the hardest moments—when farmers felt like they had nowhere to turn, when the stress felt unbearable and when good people couldn’t see a way forward.
After 20 years of trying to get ahead in farming, I moved into welding in the oilfield. But I knew I wanted to help in a more meaningful way, so I went back to school and became a therapist. For the past decade, I’ve been working with farmers, ranchers and their families to help navigate the tough stuff—trauma, abuse, addiction, suicidal thoughts, and all the unique stressors that come with this way of life.
My goal is to meet people where they’re at and help them move forward at their own pace. I don't expect you to read up or know anything about psychology. My approach is grounded in experience, compassion, and curiosity. I’ve spent years working with individuals, couples and families to help them shed and untangle the things weighing them down.
I used to see clients in person, but I’ve since moved my practice entirely online to make it easier for farmers and rural folks to access support without leaving the farm. If you’re dealing with family struggles, financial stress, or just feeling stuck, I get it. You don’t have to figure it out alone.
