I grew up on a grain, beef, and sheep farm in Southern Saskatchewan, where helping out wasn’t just encouraged, it was expected. It instilled a strong work ethic, deep appreciation for the land, value for perseverance and teamwork, and appreciation of nurturing something from the ground up. I love animals, and you’ll usually find me in the barn with my cows and horses enjoying the farm life.
This background allows me to be more knowledgeable and empathetic because I know the unique stresses in the agriculture industry and recognize the resilience it takes to navigate them. I help farmers navigate through transitions, suicide, succession planning, financial stress and farm family dynamics.
I have a Master’s of Clinical Social Work with a Trauma-Informed Practice specialization, and am registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers. My appreciation for the hard-working farmer lifestyle, combined with my formal education, helps me provide services that are both practical and relevant to what you’re experiencing.
I don't believe one boot fits all, and everyone has different goals, so I tailor each plan to my clients' unique needs using a variety of strategies and modalities. Some of these include: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. I look forward to helping support your journey in a way that is meaningful to you.
